This year's Orange British Academy Film Awards were held on Sunday 11 February 2007 at the Royal Opera House in London. The full list of nominees is below, with winners in bold.
The Orange British Academy Film Awards in 2003, hosted by Stephen Fry, will take place on Sunday 23rd February at the Odeon, Leicester Square and will be followed by dinner and an after awards party at Grosvenor House in London's West End. The programme will be produced by Initial and broadcast on BBC ONE.

| The Critics' Choice Awards |
|
The Critics' Choice Awards are bestowed annually by the Broadcast Film Critics Association to honor the finest in cinematic achievement. Nominees for 2005 will be selected by written ballots in a week-long voting period ending on midnight December 9th and will be announced on December 11th. The winners will be revealed at the 11th annual Critics' Choice Awards ceremony on January 9th at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, which will be broadcast live on The WB Television Network.
Special awards are given out at the discretion of the BFCA Board of Directors.

| Founded in 1935, the Circle 's membership includes critics from daily newspapers, weekly newspapers and magazines. Every year in December the organization meets in New York to vote on awards for the previous calendar year's films. The Circle's awards are often viewed as harbingers of the Oscar nominations, which are announced each February. The Circle's awards are also viewed -- perhaps more accurately -- as a principled alternative to the Oscars, honoring esthetic merit in a forum that is immune to commercial and political pressures.

The Orange British Academy Film Awards were held at the Odeon Leicester Square, London on February 25th, 2001.
Things have changed tremendously since the first film awards ceremony held in 1949, when there were only three categories in total, open to films shown in the UK during 1947 and 1948.
A panel of judges (appointed by the Council each year) selected a short-list of films for each category, while the winners were selected through the personal vote by the Academy's members.
Since then little has changed in terms of eligibility and the process of membership voting, but the number of categories has grown considerably!
